FRIDAY NIGHT WORKSHOP: This is NOT a class, it’s a TRANSFORMATION! Whether you are an experienced actor, curious about getting into the game, or in a different field altogether and looking to improve your performance skills, there’s a space for you here. Through the tried-and-true Rotenberg method, we will take basic scenes from your favourite film and television shows, break them down, make some fun choices, and put them up! Together we will explore the fundamentals of storytelling, being compelling and applying feedback to foster growth. As a coach, I will apply my unique toolkit of strategies to work with each student individually to actively meet their specific needs. This class is about finding joy in the pursuit of acting, and unlocking the skills and mindsets necessary for all those who wish to be successful in the world of performance.
Asante Tracey (ACTRA, OCT)From humble beginnings in small-town Alberta, Asante has now amassed 10+ years experience as a Toronto-based professional actor, starring on screen, television and stage in such titles as The Love Club, Taken, Mouthpiece, Cooking Up Love, Titans, the world premiere of Tennessee William’s The Big Game, as well as award-winning performances in Holdout, The Devil’s Tale and Grey.
Asante has written, starred in, and produced several independent productions including The Bulldog Effect, The Girl With Rose Coloured Glasses and The Defiants.
Asante is currently a professor of acting at Seneca College, which was rated Top-20 in Canada.
Loving the play and deeply personal expression of acting more than anything, Asante is over-joyed at the opportunity to utilize his storytelling and teaching abilities gained over the years, and to share this passion with other aspiring actors around the world.
