Marvin Hinz, Instructor
B.A., M.F.A., B.Ed.
Marvin has worked in theatre and television for more than
20 years, and holds an MFA in Acting from York University, where he
first met and studied under David Rotenberg in 1994. He
continues to study and teach with David at The Professional Actors Lab, and has
worked in a number of Performance Group productions under Mr. Rotenberg's
direction, including DWARF, The Sins of the Father, and
Franz Wedekind's Lulu.
Other theatre credits include: Carl in The Tank Range Project (Meaford Arts Collective /Springworks); Harry
Brock in Born Yesterday (Capital Theatre, Port Hope); The Laramie Project
(Studio180/ Buddies); Victor in Private Lives (The Globe, Regina);
and Joey in The Old Neighborhood (East-West, John Gordon).
Film and television credits include: Impact (series); Believe Me (feature); Reign; The Firm (series);
The Echo (feature); the CBC short "Unlocked"; CFC short "Two Brothers"; Mayday; Kevin Hill;
Riding the Bus with My Sister; Street Time; Brian's Song (feature); and Nero Wolfe.
In 2008, Marvin completed a Bachelor of Education at OISE, University of Toronto,
specializing in Intermediate-Senior, Literature and Theatre Studies.
In September 2013, Marvin opened his own studio
PRO ACTORS LAB STRATFORD,
which, like our Toronto studio, offers on-camera training and private audition
coaching to professionals living in southwestern Ontario and the GTA.
