"On the Day: From Tape to Set"
is a three-day intensive workshop focusing on the craft of on-set acting, from the technical to the personal. Each day includes a brief lecture followed by hands- on exercises, covering essentials such as camera technique, taking direction, cold reading, set etiquette/politics, managing performance nerves, paperwork, and the art of collaborating with various departments. Participants will leave equipped to navigate any set with confidence, and actively shape the conditions that bring out their best performance.
Jae (Jeananne) Goossen is a Gemini-nominated actor and award winning director, who has appeared in over 100 episodes of TV (The Handmaid’s Tale, The Walking Dead, Nashville), and over a dozen films (The Vow, Debug). They have lived and trained in NY/LA/Toronto with coaches such as Larry Moss, David Rotenberg, Bruce Clayton, Rae Ellen Bodie, Diana Castle, Jaqueline McClintock, and Janet Alhanti. Jae’s professional experiences as a first generation, mixed race, QTBIPOC, disabled, and neurodivergent person, helps inform their work with actors of all backgrounds.
