This six-week course of collaborative learning sessions will prepare (or refresh) teens for confidence and creativity in professional film and television acting. The course will cover how to listen and be present while working, creating compelling characters, making choices that work for you, text/subtext/context comprehension, cold readings and text preparation for auditions and scene work. Teens who take this course should come away with a toolbox of knowledge and technique to provide the confidence to work in the professional acting world and one recorded scene of their work.
Teen Fundamentals Advanced
six-week session, 1.5 hours per class
Mondays from 5:30-7pm
May 26-June 30
Price: $350+HST
Teen Fundamentals Advanced will delve further into development of character learned in Teen Fundamentals. We will do scene studies weekly with a focus on the differences between comedic and dramatic styles, and introduce a single-character scene. One class will focus on audition techniques. We will focus on learning by doing, and there will be short scenes to prepare every other week. This class will again provide a minimum of two filmed scenes at the completion of the six weeks. This class is for teens who have completed the first Teen Fundamentals class.
